Panelists George Wu, Professor of Behavioral Science at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Dr. Wendy Borlabi, Performance Psychology Consultant, will share insights about how goal setting transforms lives.

We look forward to seeing you!

Goal setting is a powerful tool for youth development. By learning how to set and work toward goals, young people build critical skills such as planning, time management, problem-solving, and perseverance.

Equally important, goal setting fosters agency — giving young people a sense of control over their choices and future. Research shows that when children feel this sense of agency, they are more likely to develop self-efficacy, make sound decisions, and avoid risky behaviors.

For children growing up in communities impacted by gun violence and poverty, strong goal-setting skills can be life-changing. Goals are just as important for parents and caregivers, who must navigate a wide range of challenges for themselves and their families.
